Software/Firmware Engineer Job Description:
Bascom Hunter is an advanced technology and intellectual property development company that specializes in product development for the US government as well as other customers providing products, technical consulting, design, and product support. The Company is a leader in wireless technology development, advanced artificial intelligence, thermal management systems, and other important technologies for Department of Defense and commercial applications and customers. We have an exciting opportunity for a Software/Firmware Engineer.
The qualified candidate will be a highly collaborative, strategic, technical leader in terms of development of software and firmware applications to support on-going projects.
Responsibilities include:
• Setting architectural vision and customer-driven objectives for prototype systems
• Facilitating collaboration between engineering groups through working relationships, design reviews, peer reviews
• Preparing and performing effective presentations demonstrating an ability to communicate comfortably at a highly technical level
• Lead development of software/firmware systems
Preferred Experience:
• BS/MS in EE, ECE, or CS with 3+ years of experience
• Customer facing GUI design
• Object-Oriented programming in C++, C#
• Python
• Comfortable with Windows and Linux
• Development using VS 2010 or higher
• Embedded systems experience
• Source control tools (Git preferred)
• Test-Driven development
• Experience with communication interfaces such as HTTPS SSL/TLS, SNMP v2/v3
• Hands-on development experience with real time hardware, software, or firmware
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
