What is included in the price?
The price includes office space, cubicles, desk and chairs, phones with voice mail and local dial tone, high-speed Internet access, access to printers and color copiers, access to Tech Park staff and business coaching.
Is there a lease?
No, members pay on a month to month basis.
How big are the offices?
There are several different office sizes, which range from 900 to 1,200 square feet.
Can I save money with the datacenter by being a member of the Tech Park?
Yes, members of the Louisiana Technology Park receive discount rates with Network Technology Group while they are in the incubator and for a limited time once they leave.
Can I work at night or on the weekends if my business is in the Tech Park?
Yes, members of the Tech Park and its employees have 24 hour/7 days a week access to the Tech Park through the Park’s biometric hand scanners.
Is there WiFi at the Tech Park?
Yes, in addition to the 3 mbps provided to each office, the building does have WiFi.
Do I have to pay to use the conference rooms or the computer center?
No, members of the Tech Park can use the Park’s three conference rooms and the computer training facility free of charge.
Do I need to have a business plan to enter the Tech Park?
To enter the Tech Park, candidates must have a business plan. For more information about admissions, please visit here . If you are not quite there with your business model, you might consider Tech Park U.
Where are you located?
The Tech Park is in the Bon Carré Business Center on Florida Blvd. Guests to the Park and its member companies can enter under the Louisiana Technology Park sign and speak to the receptionist.
What is a business incubator?
A business incubator nurtures the development of entrepreneurial companies, helping them to survive and grow at a critical stage of the growth cycle. The goals of incubators are to create jobs in the community, promoting entrepreneurialism and to help diversify the economy. Incubators accomplish their goals by providing subsidized or gratis services including office space priced well below the normal rate.
What kinds of companies can apply to be an incubator company at the Tech Park?
The Louisiana Technology Park is an incubator for technology-oriented companies. Members of the Tech Park have business primarily engaged in the field (s) of software development; computer or peripheral hardware; telecommunication equipment; Internet-based or web-based products or concepts; multimedia; biotechnology or other technology-related products. Please note that service and consulting companies are not eligible.
How do I apply for the $4,000 grant?
A $4,000 grant is available to any company that is accepted as a member of the Louisiana Technology Park incubator. Find out more about the application process here.
How much support/mentoring will I receive as a member of the Tech Park?
The amount of time that a company receives depends on the company and its specific needs. A company might be working on a specific marketing campaign requiring a great deal of interaction between Tech Park staff and the company, then at other times daily interaction won’t be necessary. The Tech Park does not keep track or keep a tally of time spent with members. It is part of each staff member’s job description to spend time helping member companies.
Can you help me find venture capital money?
The Louisiana Technology Park can help member companies evaluate their need for venture funding and then help introduce them to venture capitalist. While we cannot ensure funding, most venture capitalists appreciate the incubator model and are often more comfortable funding companies in incubators.
