The Louisiana Technology Park is an important project for the Baton Rouge community and for the state. It plays a key role in the state’s Vision 2020 plan, developed by Gov. Mike Foster’s administration and adopted by Gov. Kathleen Blanco. This project has been highly successful. Based upon an economic impact analysis done in 2005 by Dr. James Richardson, Alumni Professor of Economics at Louisiana State University, and updated in 2006 and 2007, the Tech Park has produced direct economic impacts of over $1 for every dollar the state has invested. The direct and indirect economic impacts have returned $9 for every dollar invested.
