Here are some examples of how we will accelerate the growth of your business:
1. Access to the Louisiana Technology Fund: As a tenant of the Louisiana Technology Park, one of Louisiana’s premier incubators, you will have the unique opportunity to apply to the Louisiana Technology Fund. This multimillion dollar fund was created for the sole purpose of investing Louisiana’s emerging companies. Louisiana Technology Park's Director of Finance, Genevieve Silverman,, currently sits on the fund’s board of directors.
2. Access to Angel and Venture Capitalists: Our relationships with Angel and Venture Capitalists mean that doors are opened for our members. While there is no guarantee of investments, venture capitalists tell us that they feel better about investing in “Accelerator companies” because they know the value of the mentoring we provide. They see this as another professional keeping an eye on their investment. The Tech Park is also very involved in the Louisiana Purchase Venture Capital Forum which brings VCs from all over the country to Baton Rouge each October to review seven
hand-picked business plans. Louisiana Technology Park members are often invited to present at the Forum.
3. Assistance with Business Planning: Angel and Venture Capitalists will evaluate your company on whether or not you have a solid and updated business plan. Our experienced staff will work with you on writing, tweaking and continually updating your business plan so that it accurately reflects your strategies and desired business goals.
4. Accounting: If needed, our staff will patiently work with you to establish your financial books and/or train you on the latest accounting software. From W-2s to more complicated financial statements we can help.
5. Strategic Partners: Through our Strategic Partner Network you have immediate access to the services of a remarkable network of professionals. The Network consists of more than 50 state-wide and national companies who have agreed to work with our members on either a gratis or discounted basis. Strategic Partner Network companies include Microsoft, Dell and Cisco as well as some of Louisiana’s premier accounting and legal firms, marketing, public relations professionals and staffing services.
